Transport Malta blamed a contractor for traffic congestion in Marsa yesterday morning.

The authority apologised, saying the contractor had started scarifying December 13 Road at 3 a.m. and was meant to open the lanes to traffic by 7.15 a.m. This was delayed, however, leading to a build-up in traffic.

Works are expected to resume today.
