Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia said he will be filing a case in court on Monday to attempt to claim back the three State hospitals run by Vitals, as he urged those who “want to stand up for democracy” to join him.
“There is a law that gives every Member of Parliament the right to go to court to get back property that is public if this is being taken away. And tomorrow morning that is what I will be doing,” the PN leader told supporters in Żejtun on Sunday morning.
Speaking at the party's club, Dr Delia insisted that the Opposition has repeatedly asked for details about the deal between the government and Vitals Global Healthcare for the running of three State hospitals yet has not been given any answers.
The PN leader said that even if has to fight this battle alone, he would continue fighting until the very last day to claim back the Karin Grech, St Luke’s and Gozo hospitals.

“We need to fight until the last breath to claim back what is ours,” Dr Delia saod.
Apart from the health sector, the PN leader also spoke about another sector he said no government should ever “touch” – education.
Referring to the ongoing dispute between MCAST lecturers and the government, Dr Delia said the way the educators were being treated is “saddening” and akin to the way second- or third-class professionals are regarded.
He added that the thousands of students who attend the college were wasting their time worrying about their lecturers instead of focusing on their studies.
Referring to the planned expansion of the Bulebel industrial estate, which has infuriated resident, Dr Delia asked whether the space was earmarked for a medical cannabis company. He also questioned whether the necessary studies would be carried out before the expansion.
“I spoke to people in the area. A farmer told us that he received no letter or anything to inform him but three people, with police officers, went up to him to tell him to start packing up because the area was being cleared up. That is how this government operates,” Dr Delia said.
About 120,000 square metres of land will be taken up by the development, displacing farmers who use the land to cultivate vines, potatoes and other crops.
At the start of his speech, the PN leader also paid tribute to the 35-year-old man who died in Marsascala on Sunday morning after inhaling smoke when a neighbour’s apartment caught fire.
