Deliberate congestion

Since the beginning of this scholastic year it has been a nightmare for the majority of the population to drive to work. Traffic jams seem to increase every morning. To make things worse, the authorities seem to be throwing logs in the fire.

It is very frustrating being in a traffic jam watching government employees having breakfast on the lane closed for traffic. I cannot understand why the authorities send their employees to prune trees and clean the roads during peak hours. Such work in main roads should be carried out later during the day, or at night.

Another issue is the bus lane at Marsa. There has been a congestion at Marsa ever since the bus lane was introduced. I think that the proportion of cars to buses does not justify a bus lane. All the people who drive from Marsa every morning will surely agree that the situation is unbearable.

Apart from the stress and frustration that this problem is causing, the authorities should also realise that thousands of productive hours are being lost every day.
