\nIn a hard-fought game, Hibs' fouls situation and Depiro's superiority underneath the boards tilted this Super Cup final the latter's way.
Hibs committed no fewer than 13 fouls in the first session as they struggled to contain Depiro's drives.
Mario Tabone's team depended heavily on their top-scorer Lucienne Bezzina to amass points as the other established players, Alexis Darmanin, Marion Vella and Doreen Parnis had a quiet game in attack.
After an uneventful start, Depiro began to pile up the points to move into an 18-4 lead but in the last minute, Hibs came within six points of their opponents.
Their improvement continued as the second quarter got underway but a series of missed free-throws helped Depiro change ends 32-27 ahead.
Another Hibs rally saw them narrowing the gap to just a point and Depiro then had their fast forward Rosanne Falzon disqualified.
However, Hibs failed to gain advantage from Falzon's exit as two three-pointers by Sarah Pace helped Depiro surge 48-42 in front as the last ten minutes began.
Hibs' task of getting back in contention suffered a blow when Parnis, Vella and Beverly Zammit were fouled out. This paved the way for Depiro to secure their success with something to spare.
