the winter edition of Design and Décor is bursting at its seams with great ideas on indoor and outdoor creations, and interesting features by some of the best experts in the field.

This issue, number 41, starts off with a Christmas message from the magazine's editor, Eve Arnett.

Together with Eleanor Camp-bell, Eve interviews architect Edward Bencini, who has been behind many major projects, including Portomaso, the Cottonera waterfront project, the Mgarr Hotel, the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort and Busietta Gardens.

Marika Azzopardi writes about art on plates and mentions an interesting set of wall plates created by entrepreneur Patrick Delia and established local artist Kenneth Zammit Tabona.

Olivia-Ann Calleja has some 'bright' ideas on how to light your houses, which could affect our lives in so many ways.

Modern furniture has become very fashionable and Marika Azzopardi writes on Bo concept and its "edge to define your lifestyle". Another promotional feature written by the same author is "Parquet pour moi".

And to bring some Christmas spirit, we get a pictorial feature on the annual Christmas Ornament 2004 exhibition, featuring many crystal pieces with a Christmas theme.

An article for the thankfully few who love to live in the county, a read through the country life-style feature, is a must.

Penny Apap-Brown tells us in "Living by the water" that nowhere is the experience of water more vivid, more personal and more enlightening than in the home or on the threshold.

From the waterfront to the village, the magazine presents us with a feature on elegant townhouses and houses of character in not so popular places such as Zurrieq and Zejtun. For contemporary living we get a feature on new architecture designs away from the traditional high ceilings and lime-washed walls.

Without the weekend escape route, life would indeed be unbearable; so what better way than to spend a weekend in a lovely farmhouse in Gozo as the one featured in a special feature in Design and Decor.

Besides these features, we also get many other promotional features and another on how we could offer a different meal this Christmas.

Published in full colour by Progress Press Ltd., Design and Décor is out on sale from all leading booksellers at Lm1.85.
