The 15th Dingli 10 road race, organised jointly by St Patrick's AC and the Dingli Local Council for the past five years, will be held on March 19.

Since the first edition in 1991, the race has become established as a tradition and one of the most prestigious fixtures of the Maltese athletics calendar.

The start and finish of the race are at the square next to the Francis Ebejer monument. The course is ten miles long (16 kms). Runners will go down to Fiddien valley for the first four miles before the terrain becomes quite hilly. Then they will pass through country roads on towards the spectacular and panoramic Dingli cliffs before the final dash back to the village centre.

The main race will start at 9 a.m., and shortly after there will be a race for junior athletes, over a distance of 2.3 miles, and a fun run. Races will be sponsored by Red Bull.

Application forms are available from the club's website www.stpatricks-ac.org , from Wally's shop in Valletta or by calling 7970-8650, 21-410648.

In all, about 100 participants are expected to take part. Carol Galea who has also won every race since 1998 will take part. Michael Gellel, Stephen Mifsud, Roderick Debono and Konrad Ciappara will be among the participants in the men's race.
