Director-general exchanges views with Spanish economic counsellor

F.O.I. director general Edwin Calleja welcomed Vicente Saval Marin and Franco Scaramuzzi from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy, based in Rome, to the FOI offices.

The Spanish Embassy officials, who were accompanying the Spanish Foreign Minister at a meeting in Malta, took the opportunity to call on the FOI director-general to discuss Malta's EU membership bid, the problems being encountered, the successes achieved in the economy and the plans ahead for Malta to assume the full obligations of membership.
