I am writing with reference to the article (August 8) regarding the loss by Enemalta of Lm7.5 million.

I have lived in Gozo since November, 2002 and as yet have still not received an electricity bill. To date I have on two occasions called at Enemalta's office in Victoria to enquire about paying both electricity and water bills, only to be told I would maybe receive a bill for both in September, 2003. I hasten to add that the company was quick enough to demand payment of a Lm200 deposit from me when I took up occupation of my new home.

If like me there are thousands of other householders throughout Malta and Gozo being given the same information, is it any wonder that Enemalta has incurred such a loss?

Not wishing to become one of Mr Tabone's 15 per cent, maybe he should put the company's house in order before accusing householders of non-payment of bills.
