The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses has lifted the industrial dispute it had registered with the government last week, the union said.

The issue revolves around the salaries of nurses working at St Vincent de Paul Residence for the Elderly.

The union had claimed the government failed to honour an agreement to remedy the salary problems, with some of the cases dating back to November 2003.

The Department of Information said talks led to a resolution of the pending issues.
