'Disregard' for Francis Ebejer

Alternattiva Demokratika's spokesman for youth and culture, David Darmanin, has criticised the decision by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts to scrap the current Francis Ebejer Award For Drama and replace it with the Drama Award - Malta Council For Culture and the Arts. "Both the exclusive criteria set in the new award as well as the disregard shown to Francis Ebejer, whose plays and novels still make our country proud 12 years after his demise, have offended young artists, cultural organisations and a good number of people actively involved in the development of our cultural scene," Mr Darmanin said.
