A 72-year-old Briton residing in Malta is in a critical condition after he suffered a heart attack while diving.

The police said the man was diving with an instructor at Cirkewwa at around 8.15 a.m. when he had the attack.

Even though he was given artificial respiration by the instructor, his condition is critical.

The police are investigating.
