A 41-year-old man from the Philippines who resides in Sliema fell to his death yesterday in the shipyard at Ras Hanzir, Paola.

The man fell off a two-storey-high platform while sanding the side of a docked ship.

Duty Magistrate Dennis Montebello is holding an inquiry and has appointed a number of experts to assist him.

The case is being investigated by the Paola district police.
