Some doctors at health centres are sometimes unhelpful and have an attitude problem and lack of patience.
Since when is it not an emergency to get your blood pressure checked? The other day, a Gzira health centre doctor stated that it was not an emergency to have your blood pressure checked and nearly refused to do so.
Just a reminder that these doctors are paid through our taxes and that the service leaves much to be desired. One should recognise the importance of the doctor-patient relationship and not just treat a patient as a number.
Doctors' communication styles vary considerably. However, some situations such as having a consultation session disturbed, such as the GP staring at the computer screen and other team members randomly entering the room, or a GP trying to minimise a patient's viewing time should be analysed by the health authorities for a better service by the practitioners involved!
