A puppy who fell overboard from a fishing boat off the California coast last month survived a five-week solo journey across the ocean and a rocky island shoreline and will soon be reunited with her owner.

Navy officials found Luna on Tuesday after she presumably swam some two miles to San Clemente Island, off the San Diego coast.

She is believed to have fallen overboard from owner Nick Haworth's fishing boat while he and a crew member were hauling in a catch before dawn on Feb. 10.

Nick searched the waters for two days, the Navy carried on a search a week longer.

Haworth wrote on Facebook: "I always knew she was a warrior."

And soon she will be a very happy warrior.
