FKNK-led event celebrates indigenous Maltese breeds

A Pharaoh Hound (Kelb tal-Fenek) named Dora was crowned Best in Show at the 27th edition of the Malta Hunting Dog and Kelb tal-Fenek Show, held at Buskett on Thursday as part of the Imnarja festivities.

Dora also won the Best of Breed title for the Pharaoh Hound category, while a dog named Draco was named Best of Breed in the Maltese Hunting Dog category. Dora and Draco finished first and second respectively in the overall Best in Show competition.

The event, organised by the Federation for Hunting, Trapping and Conservation (FKNK), attracted 50 dogs from the two indigenous Maltese breeds.
