Jelena Dokic made a triumphant return to Australia's Fed Cup team yesterday with an easy win in her opening match at the Asia/Oceania play-offs in Perth.

Dokic, who made a fairytale run to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open last month, beat Lee Jin-a 6-0 6-3 in less than an hour to help Australia defeat South Korea 3-0.

It was Dokic's first Fed Cup appearance for Australia since 2000 following the well-publicised fallout between her estranged father Damir and tennis officials.

"I could have gone to Europe or America but I made it very clear I wanted to play Fed Cup and I would always make myself available again for Australia, just like I did before," Dokic told reporters.

"There was no way for me to miss this opportunity to play again."
