Former Chief Justice Giuseppe Mifsud Bonnici and the noted historian and author Joseph Pirotta on Saturday presided over the launch of John Manduca's latest publication, The Flavour Of The Mintoff Era - Secret Negotiations Made Public.

The 334-page book, with a foreword by Albert Ganado, includes a selective Who's Who and comprehensive extracts from confidential reviews written by eight British High Commissioners who served in Malta between 1971 and 1987. These are published under the "30-year rule" and became available from the National Archives in the United Kingdom. The book is illustrated with 30 photographs and cartoons.

Mr Manduca is the author of The Bonham-Carter Diaries, 1936-40, published in 2004. He was Malta's High Commissioner in London between 1987 and 1990 and non-resident Ambassador to Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Dublin.

Available at leading booksellers, the publication sells at €25 soft cover.
