IOC president Jacques Rogge is confident of reaching a compromise with the Italian government over its anti-doping laws before next year's Turin Winter Games. The IOC fears that athletes could be subjected to police raids and risk prison sentences under Italian law if they test positive at the Games. "It is clear there will be no amendments to the law," Rogge said at the IOC's headquarters. "I am confident a solution can be found which will, on the one hand, respect the legislation and, on the other, ensure the Games are workable."
