Double success for Delicata winemakers on the world stage
The winery honoured at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge
Delicata Winery has added to its tally of international awards at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026 and the International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2026.
As a global stage for definitive wine evaluation by leading international experts, the Decanter World Wine Awards are renowned for setting an incredibly high bar.
This year, two of Delicata’s premium whites caught the attention of the London judges, each bringing home a bronze medal.
The judges praised the Grand Vin de Hauteville Oak-aged Chardonnay D.O.K. Malta, 2025, describing it as “harmonious (…) with a toasty flinty character followed by ripe orchard fruits and apricot”.
The Medina Vermentino Zibibbo D.O.K. Malta, 2025 also triumphed, noted for being “herbal on the nose, with a touch of rose and nettles. Peaches and nectarines on the palate”.
These latest accolades complement Malta’s leading winemaker’s success earlier at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2026.
Known for its meticulous standards, the IWC judges every single bottle entirely blind by panels of global experts.
Delicata rose to the occasion, securing both a bronze medal and a commendation.
The Victoria Heights Chardonnay, 2025 IGT Maltese Islands was honoured with the IWC bronze medal. Joining it in the spotlight, the elegant ESKWIŻIT Moscato Perlato, Quality Sparkling Wine of Malta, achieved a highly regarded commendation.
Delicata extends its thanks to its viticulture and cellar teams, as well as all partners who support the winery’s mission of producing world-class Maltese wines.
