An international charity that offers free holidays to children with life-threatening illnesses is arranging for a Maltese child to go to Florida's Kids Village in January, right after her treatment in the UK.

Give Kids the World tries to provide everlasting, precious memories of a happy time together with the family, far away from hospitals and treatments.

Six-year-old Naomi Incorvaja, the girl who passed away with a rare degenerative disease last Saturday, was looking forward to such a dream trip to Disneyland Resort in Paris, courtesy of the Give Kids the World, before she died.

The charity is represented locally by Crowne Plaza Malta.

Sandra Chetcuti, personal assistant to the general manager, had heard about Naomi's story through the media last year and immediately started working with the family to plan a holiday.

"Regrettably, we could not realise Naomi's dream and our thoughts are with her parents and family," she said.

Ms Chetcuti believes extra efforts should be made to add a dose of happiness to Maltese children who are terminally ill.

Funds are constantly being collected to make these children's dreams come true, be it to meet Mickey Mouse or go wild on the fun rides.

Donations to Give Kids the World can be made to the Bank of Valletta account: 14813986022.
