A driver yesterday managed to restrain a man who allegedly had just stolen electronic equipment from cars parked in Triq San ­Publiju, Floriana, the police said.

The police said they were tipped about the theft by an anonymous caller. The driver happened to have electronic equipment stolen from his car.

The 32-year-old alleged thief is being held by the police for further investigation.
