After reading the interesting article by Kenneth Zammit Tabona, I am taking the liberty to react to a passage in his article. He writes: "[...] while in Holland the 'Islamic' murderers of film director Theo van Gogh and gay MP Pym Fortune are still on the run".

Mr van Gogh was indeed murdered by an Islamic extremist, however, this murderer has been sentenced to life imprisonment and therefore not still on the run.

With regard to the murder of right-wing politician Pim Fortuyn, I wish to remark the following. Mr Fortuyn was never a member of Parliament.

The murder took place on May 6, only a couple of weeks before the general election. His party, LPF, obtained 26 seats in Parliament and it was the first time that LPF formed part of the Dutch Parliament.

Furthermore, Mr Fortuyn was not murdered by an Islamic extremist but by a Dutch man, who saw in Mr Fortuyn the greatest possible danger for Dutch society. The murderer of Mr Fortuyn has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment. In this case too, the murderer is not still on the run.
