An Edin Dzeko brace ensured AS Roma secured three points against Empoli to keep their Serie A title hopes alive.
The low-key match was effectively over when the Bosnian striker grabbed his second of the night after 56 minutes, knocking the wind out of Empoli's sails in the process.
Dzeko had opened his account after just 12 minutes, with Empoli's defence switching off during a Roma corner, allowing the striker to sneak in and bundle the ball over the line.
His second was cleaner, with Mohammed Salah nodding the ball onto his strike partner's foot for Dzeko to volley home from close-range.
The win put Roma on 68 points, five ahead of third-place Napoli and five behind leaders Juventus, who face each other tomorrow evening in the weekend's marquee fixture.
