President Emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami this morning presented Dar tal-Providenza with a cheque for €45,000, raised from the sale of his autobiography, Eddie: My Journey.

Speaking a day after celebrating his 81st birthday, Dr Fenech Adami said he was deeply satisfied at being able to pass on such a sum to an organisation that was so close to his heart.

“Never lose heart. Providence can be found everywhere,” he said.
Dr Fenech Adami also thanked Times of Malta editor-in-chief Steve Mallia, for developing the idea and seeing it through to fruition.

Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Dar tal-Providenza, thanked Dr Fenech Adami for his long relationship with the organisation, and Allied Publications for their contribution to the project.

“This donation helps us to keep up the work we do and strengthen it further,” he said.

A further donation of €5,000, the remaining proceeds from the autobiography, was made to the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation.

Eddie: My Journey, was issued in February last year, charting the 50-year political career of the former President, Prime Minister and Nationalist Party leader.
