Eden Leisure Foundation funds improvements at Il-Milja Residence
Providing improved comfort for women and children rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic violence
The Eden Leisure Foundation has funded the purchase and installation of new air conditioning units at Il-Milja Residence, providing improved comfort for women and children rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic violence.
Operated by Fondazzjoni Sebħ, Il-Milja offers safe accommodation and holistic support to women and children seeking refuge from abusive situations. The €7,000 investment has enabled the installation of air conditioning units throughout the residence's apartments and offices, creating a more comfortable environment for both residents and staff, particularly during the warmer months.
The project forms part of the Eden Leisure Foundation's ongoing commitment to supporting organisations that deliver essential services to vulnerable members of the community through practical initiatives that have a lasting impact.
Kerry Hermitage, spokesperson for Fondazzjoni Sebħ expressed gratitude for the Foundation's continued support: "For an NGO such as Fondazzjoni Sebħ, ongoing maintenance and repairs in our homes are a major expense. Once again, Eden Leisure Group, through its foundation, the Eden Leisure Foundation, has supported us in this challenge. By doing this, the Group has helped us ensure that standards are maintained and that our residents continue to have the living conditions that they deserve."
Speaking about the initiative, Kate de Cesare, Chairperson of the Eden Leisure Foundation, added: "Through partnerships with organisations such as Fondazzjoni Sebħ, the Foundation continues to invest in initiatives that provide practical support where it is needed most, strengthen communities and improve the quality of life for vulnerable individuals across Malta."
