The mission statement of the Malta University Services (MUS) is: "To provide high quality training and related activities aimed at enhancing Malta's human resources".
The 2003-2004 Training Programme catered for a wide range of courses with the introduction of several new products. Some of the traditional programmes seemed to lose their attraction, while the innovative ones attracted good response and interest.
Satisfactory results continued to be registered with in-house courses. MUS was entrusted with designing and delivering specialised training programmes for MITTS, Methode Electronics, Lufthansa Technik, ETC, Baxter and Amatech and also collaborated with the Malta Tourism Authority and the International Institute of Baroque Studies in launching new programmes.
This year MUS successfully launched a tourist guide training programme, an introductory course in Japanese and a certificate course in working with children and families, social work supervision and field work teaching.
The main objectives for the coming year are to focus on upgrading established courses for the local market, the introduction of CPD programmes for professionals, tapping foreign markets and introducing self-development programmes for both academic and non-academic members of our University.
Anyone interested in contributing to the above ideals by putting forward ideas for new coursess, seminars or any other educational training can contact C.J. Falzon, MUS short courses manager, before the end of August on tel 2134-3572, fax: 2134-0979 or e-mail: charles.j.falzon@mus.com.mt.
