Mr Justice Joe Galea Debono has jailed  Egyptian Ibrahim Hafes Ibrahim El Degwi, 42,  for 45 months after a jury found him guilty of having burgled an elderly Gozitan woman's house in Xaghra in June 2001 and of causing damage. He stole  Lm400.

The jury returned a 7-2 guilty verdict and also found him unanimously guilty of relapsing.  

The woman was found dead in a well in 2002.
