A string of bombings has targeted marketplaces and a commercial area in the Iraq capital, Baghdad, killing at least eight people and wounding 26.
Police officials say the deadliest attack took place inside a market in the Shula district in north western Baghdad where a bomb went off this morning, killing five people and wounding 16.
The officials say a bombing at a wholesale vegetable market in southern Baghdad killed one person and wounded three.
Later on, a bomb exploded in a commercial area in the northern suburb of Taji, killing two people and wounding seven.
Medical officials confirmed the casualty figures.
