An elderly man is in critical condition after being run over while crossing Eucharistic Congress Street, in Mosta, yesterday morning. He is Anthony Abdilla, 62, of Mosta.

The police said the man was hit by a Maruti Jeep driven by a 64-year-old man at about 6.30 a.m.

A magisterial inquiry was opened.
