Elderly man seriously injured after falling into a field in Gozo

The accident happened in Kerċem, Gozo on Monday morning

A 73-year-old man was seriously injured after he fell into a field in Gozo on Monday.

According to investigations, police said the man, a Kerċem resident, slipped while he was walking in a field in Triq l Għadira in Kerċem. The man fell from a height of around a storey, ending up in another field.

A medical team, as well as members from the Civil Protection department, assisted the man, who was then taken to the Gozo General Hospital. 

Later, he was certified to be suffering from serious injuries. 

An inquiry into the accident is being led by Magistrate Brigitte Sultana, while police investigations are ongoing.
