An elderly woman from Żabbar was grievously injured on Monday morning when she was hit by a car in Fgura. 

The 72-year-old was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance following the 9am incident on Triq Sant’ Antnin.

In a statement, the police said that she was hit by a Nissan Juke being driven by a 24-year-old from Xgħajra. A police investigation is under way.
