Emirates Skycargo expands to Shanghai

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight operation of the Dubai-based international airline, is offering additional cargo capacity to Shanghai.

Represented in Malta by Cassar and Cooper, the new passenger services to Shanghai, served by an Airbus A340-300 with a cargo capacity of 13 tonnes, will further facilitate China's booming trade with the rest of the world.

Supplementing the existing four- weekly B747-400 freighter services to the city, the new service will initially fly thrice weekly and daily from May 15. It means that Emirates SkyCargo now offers seven flights per week and 11 flights starting from May 15, offering more than 570 tonnes of capacity each week.

Emirates' dedicated freighters currently carry IT hardware components such as hard disks, silicon chips and printers, electronic office equipment, fabrics, as well as engineering spares and components.

Finished products are quickly and efficiently transported across Emirates' network, which includes China's main trading partners - the US, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Germany, The Netherlands, UK, Singapore and Taiwan.

Emirates SkyCargo's Priority Service assures on-time delivery throughout the world, while the extensive trucking and off-line partner networks ensure comprehensive coverage where customers need it most. SkyChain, the one-stop Web shop with many value-added features, enables customers to obtain information as well as transact business online.

Emirates SkyCargo also started services to Glasgow on April 10, to Vienna on May 1, and provide belly-hold capacity to supplement its existing freighter capacity to New York on June 1.
