Emmerdale cast and crew have paid tribute to the soap’s mastermind Gavin Blyth, who has died at the age of 41.

The married father-of-three, series producer of the ITV1 show, had suffered a “short illness”.

Mr Blyth, whose children range from one to 15, leaves a widow Suzy. He is thought to have been recently diagnosed with cancer.
