A concert of trio sonatas will be performed in the lovely Baroque setting of the Gharb parish church today at 6.30 p.m., as the final event in this week's Manoel Baroque Festival 2003.

Completed in 1729, the church's concave façade forms part of the exuberant late baroque heritage of the Maltese islands.

The programme will feature music from the 17th and 18th centuries by well-known composers Corelli, Vivaldi, Telemann, Albinoni, and Caldara as well as a sonata by Vivaldi for cello and harpsichord.

The four-musician ensemble is made up of Nadia R. Debono (violin), Mario Frendo (viola), Simon Abdilla Joslin (cello), and Davinia Galea (harpsichord).
