The first in the 2003/4 series of educational lectures by Din l-Art Helwa offers an interesting debate on the struggle between conservation of the environment and the perennial challenge posed by land use and development.
Marguerite Camilleri will speak on "Environmental Capacity Limits for Malta".
The lecture is being held at the headquarters of Din l-Art Helwa in Melita Street, Valletta tomorrow at 6 p.m.
This lecture will examine the usefulness of an environmental policy tool, called environmental capacity assessment, by which sustainable development is integrated with land use in order to assist with environmental planning in Malta.
Dr Camilleri has just completed her doctoral research in the field of environmental policy. She is interested in policy tools for sustainable development as well as environmental and sustainability policy. She lectures regularly on these subjects at the University of Malta.
