The Association of Hotels, Restaurants & Cafés in Europe (HOTREC) recently organised a full-day internal seminar on EU environmental issues at Le Meridien Phoenicia. The seminar was organised in conjunction with the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association, a member of HOTREC.
It was chaired by Pekka Ropponen, from the Finnish Hotel and Restaurant Association, who is also the chairman of the HOTREC environment task force.
MHRA president Anthony Chircop and Niels Nygaard, president of HOTREC, also addressed the delegates.
The MHRA was assigned by HOTREC to co-ordinate the seminar, including the social programmes for the 25 delegates who originated from the various EU member states. Ms. Natalie Ann Flynn, MHRA's EU consultant was entrusted with the organisation of the event.
The Minister of Tourism and the Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry for Home Affairs and the Environment hosted the two main dinners during the programme. Air Malta was the official carrier for all the delegates.
