Joe Friggieri, one of the Nationalist Party candidates for the European parliament elections, is destined to continue the rest of the campaign with a "handicap" after he was injured in a relay race on Saturday.
Prof. Friggieri was spending a weekend alongside other candidates. The activities, ranging from workshops to sport activities, were organised by the Xarabank team, which will feature the candidates in a programme on Friday week.
Prof. Friggieri fell, damaging his shoulder bone. But as he was being taken to hospital, he ensured those present that "he will be back in the race".
The PN's Gozitan candidate, Anton Tabone, will probably have to limp for part of what's left of the campaign after he sprained an ankle in one of the sports activities.
