Epic powers Playcon’s fifth edition as main service provider
Powering every stage of the event with high-performance connectivity
Epic has been confirmed as the main service provider for the fifth edition of Playcon, Malta’s largest gaming and esports festival, running from October 8-12, at MFCC in Ta’ Qali.
Known for its speed, reliability, and innovation, Epic will power every stage of the event with the same high-performance connectivity that recently earned it recognition as Malta’s Best Network in the Malta Communications Authority’s independent benchmarking and through consecutive Ookla Speedtest Awards.
This year marks a milestone, with both Epic and Playcon celebrating their fifth anniversary. At the centre of Playcon’s B2B Summit, Epic for Business will showcase how its advanced fixed infrastructure and tailored connectivity solutions enable organisations in Malta and beyond to thrive in high-demand, digital-first industries such as gaming.
Epic’s state-of-the-art fibre network is monitored around the clock by its Network Operations Centre, giving clients full visibility and access to expert technical support at any time. Businesses benefit from Dedicated Internet Access, offering consistent, high-speed connectivity and dependable performance, ensuring uptime and stability even during peak demand.
Both Epic and Playcon are celebrating their fifth anniversary.“Playcon is where innovation, entertainment, and business meet,” said Suzanne Spiteri, Epic’s Chief Commercial Officer. “As Malta’s leading service provider, we are proud to power this landmark edition of Playcon, showcasing the infrastructure, expertise, and vision that keep both gamers and businesses connected at the highest level.”
For Playcon younger audiences, Epic is also supporting two dedicated Education Days, where more than 3,000 students will participate in workshops, meet professionals, and explore future careers in video games and esports. The festival continues with a Mythic Pass experience on October 10, an inclusive evening for VIPs, influencers, and families, which culminates in a free-to-attend public weekend with 70 exhibitors, including 15 Maltese game studios, live esports competitions, immersive experiences, a cosplay competition judged by international experts, and the first-ever School Esports World Championships hosted in Malta.
Kersten Schircop, Business Development Director at Playcon, added: “Our vision has always been to celebrate gaming as both an industry and a culture. This year’s fifth edition represents an important step forward, with more studios, more international recognition, and more opportunities for Malta’s gaming community. And with Epic powering the event, we can guarantee world-class connectivity for businesses, gamers, and the public alike.”
