Epic wins again: MCA benchmark confirms Epic as Malta's best network
Independent nationwide assessment by Malta Communications Authority places Epic first overall for the second consecutive year
Epic has once again been ranked Malta's highest-performing mobile network in the latest nationwide benchmark commissioned by the Malta Communications Authority (MCA), retaining the number one position for a second consecutive assessment.
Conducted independently by Systemics PAB, the benchmark evaluated the performance of Malta's three mobile network operators across approximately 1,500 kilometres of testing throughout Malta and Gozo. The assessment measured the services consumers rely on every day, including voice calls, web browsing, file downloads and uploads, video streaming, and internet-based calling through apps such as WhatsApp.
Epic ranked first overall, outperforming competing operators and confirming Epic's position as Malta's top-performing network for the second consecutive benchmark.
Epic recorded the fastest download and upload speeds in the country, along with the best performance for everyday internet-based calls and messaging through apps such as WhatsApp. The company also recorded the most consistent scores of any operator across all regions of Malta and Gozo, with particularly strong performance in Gozo, delivering the strongest performance of the three operators.
The results also point to a strong year-on-year improvement in voice performance across the market, with faster call connection times and better voice quality recorded industry-wide. Epic recorded the strongest overall voice performance of the three operators tested. During capacity testing, Epic recorded its highest download throughput in the Northern Harbour region, consistent with the pattern seen nationally.

This latest MCA benchmark follows another year of independent recognition for Epic's network performance. Earlier this year, Ookla named Epic Malta's Fastest Mobile Network for the third consecutive year, while also recognising it as Malta's Best Mobile Network and Best Performing Network on Apple Devices. Together, these independent assessments reinforce Epic's position as the network setting the benchmark for mobile connectivity in Malta.
