The Employment and Training Corporation has launched a new scheme to help young people discover and develop their hidden talents by contributing to the community while working with non-governmental organisations.

The corporation will pay the participating youths Lm30 a week for six months. The participants will be exempted from registering for work during this period but do not lose any social benefits or their priority at the end of the scheme.

The organisations taking part in the scheme have to issue projects that the ETC will check for feasibility. The nature of the project may range from maintenance work to clerical and other administrative work that can be finalised within six months. Politically affiliated or profit-making organisations cannot participate.

Interested people can contact the Schemes Coordinator, ETC Hal Far on 2220 1230 or e-mail marvinm@etc.org.mt
