Speaker Anton Tabone will today be convening the Contact Group of parliamentary speakers of the Euro-Mediterranean region to prepare for the fourth conference which will be held in Malta at the beginning of next year.

The speakers of Egypt, Italy, Spain, Tunisia and the Vice President of the European parliament are in Malta for the meeting. The conference will bring together parliamentary speakers from 27 countries.

The first conference was held in Malaga with the aim of strengthening relations between the different parliaments in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The later editions were held in Alexandria and Athens.
