The ninth European Conference on Epilepsy and Society is being held in Malta from March 18 to 20. This is a unique conference that allows direct interaction between lay organisations for people with epilepsy, and the health care professionals and neurologists involved in the treatment of people with epilepsy.

This two-day conference will be held in conjunction with the 2004 National Epilepsy Conference of the Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association and the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, of the University of Malta.

The theme of the conference will be "Focusing on Change". Discussions will be held on how change can come about with regards to the management and treatment of epilepsy, with the sharing of the experiences of people with epilepsy and highlighting developments in care and how to work for change.

Registration forms may be downloaded from the Caritas Malta Website on www.caritasmalta.org.

Further information may be obtained from Godwin Cachia, secretary of Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association (e-mail godcac@global.net.mt or tel. 2137-0381) or Dr Janet Mifsud (e-mail janet.mifsud@um.edu.mt, tel. 2340-2845 or fax 2132-0281).
