Two academic members of the Geography Division within the Mediterranean Institute attended the launch of the Herodot Network at the Royal Geographical Society in London.

John Schembri, co-ordinator of the Geography Division and Maria Attard, assistant lecturer and co-ordinator of the Geographic Information Systems Laboratory at the University of Malta, attended the conference.

Herodot is the European Network of Geography Departments in Higher Education. Members include academic geography departments, teacher training institutions, research centers and professional development organisations.

Herodot seeks to promote geography in higher education and supports the professional development of geographers.

This participation is expected to attract students and research projects in the field of geography and raise the profile of geography both locally and across Europe.
