Ex-British champion Ziemelis pays visit to Malta

Former British motor sport champion Stuart Ziemelis was recently in Malta and paid a visit to the Farsons Brewery in Mriehel. He was accompanied by young kart racing champion, Jacob Borg, who is sponsored by Kinnie.

A few months ago, Borg completed an intensive kart-racing course at SRS Racing School in Cambridge, which is run by Ziemelis.

Ziemelis and Borg were welcomed at the Brewery by Joanne Scerri Valentino, Kinnie Brand Executive at Farsons.

"Kinnie is committed to fostering the growth of new sport disciplines in Malta," she said.

"Although kart racing is relatively an innovative sport among youngsters in Malta, Jacob has already proved his potential, both in Malta and abroad.

"We are proud to be helping him in this venture and we wish Jacob success in his future accomplishments."

At SRS Racing School, Borg was under the guidance and supervision of Ziemelis and experienced instructor Rob Barnett.

Kinnie sponsored his participation in the course and on completion he successfully obtained his kart racing licence from the Motor Sports Association that allows him to race in any UK circuit.

Ziemelis said: "I would say that he is an outstanding, dedicated individual and shows great commitment - traits that are paramount for success in motor sport.

"I see many young hopefuls pass through the SRS Racing School and the level of determination shown by Jacob has been exceptional.

"Given the right support and opportunity he will excel, of that I have no doubt."

Borg is currently participating in the Winter Challenge at Badger Karting at Ta' Qali. He is second in the championship with only two races to go.
