Last Wednesday, FOI director general Edwin Calleja welcomed Michal Borgul'a, vice-governor of The Export-Import Bank (Eximbanka) of the Slovak Republic, to the Federation. Mr Borgul'a was visiting Malta to meet various local institutions in an effort to bring about improved business co-operation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Mr Borgul'a explained that the Eximbanka was involved in export guarantees and financing export activities and credit.

Possible routes to develop business co-operation were discussed, including the opportunity of co-ordinating a trade delegation from Slovakia to visit Malta and meet Maltese industrialists.
