Regarding the news item about the aircraft accident of January 22, I feel a clarification is in order.
The aircraft, an MD11F, did not skid off the runway but just veered on the side of the taxiway, which is a different story altogether (and to a certain extent, a much less serious matter). A taxiway is that part of the airfield that leads from the runway to the aircraft aprons where the aircraft park.
Also regarding Col. Muammar Gaddafi's visit, the news item reported on January 21, he last visited Malta on November 17, 1984. Saying only that he "last visited Malta in the mid-1980s" is not satisfactory.
Although one can say that these points are trivial, factual reporting is essential for researchers such as I and I feel that a prestigious newspaper like The Times should keep its records and news items up to scratch.
On a lighter note, you won't catch me dead without The Times (of Malta) daily!
