Simonds Farsons Cisk has won PepsiCo Award for Quality for the second consecutive year.

Roberto Veggian, PepsiCo franchise manager for Malta, presented the award for results in 2001 to Paul Micallef, the deputy to the chief executive of operations.

The International Quality Award programme covers three assessments: the monthly analysis of trade samples; production plant survey; and trade survey.

Locally produced Pepsi and 7UP are analysed and tested for six technical aspects by PepsiCo laboratories in Ireland.

An expert tasting panel evaluates the samples to assess the sensory characteristics of the product. The laboratory issues a monthly score for each company bottling Pepsi.

Every year, PepsiCo's technical representative in Italy visits the production plant at Simonds Farsons Cisk to carry out the plant survey.

He conducts a thorough inspection of the plant to verify that the bottler adheres to high standards from the purchase of raw materials, quality control, product manufacture to finished products' storage and distribution.
