While staying at our property in Malta, we purchased a bathroom mirror from Calbros Ltd (189, Naxxar Road, Birkirkara) last December 4. On April 15 we noticed that the mirror had turned brown along the bottom edge which continued to worsen each day.

On April 30 we telephoned the shop and explained the problem. We then asked whether the faulty mirror could be replaced and we were advised that they could not replace it, They added that it came from Italy and the fault had happened due to damp in the bathroom.

Since the mirror was purchased as a "bathroom" mirror, we consider it should withstand changes in temperature and humidity, and thus we consider the mirror as faulty and of poor quality.

We have now returned to England and shall be returning to Malta in November. We would be grateful for your help in this matter. We are also enclosing a copy of the bill of sale. (Mr and Mrs J. Payne, May 24)

This letter was copied in to Calbros Ltd. On June 11 we asked them for their comments, to no avail. On July 9 we sent them a reminder and another one on July 23, still to no avail.

On September 3 we sent them yet another reminder and another copy of the Paynes' letter. At this stage I appeal to Calbros Ltd to respond to our repeated requests. After all, we are giving them an opportunity to give us their side of the case. Their co-operation would be appreciated.
