Twenty-two athletes took part in the National Duathlon Championship, which took place on Sunday on the Ghajn Tuffieha-Xemxija route.

The favourites lived up to expectations as both Maria Mifsud Bonnici and David Galea cruised to victories in their respective categories.

Danica Spiteri was second behind Mifsud Bonnici and Debbie Micallef Eynaud third. Galea was followed by Fabio Spiteri and Mark Zammit, still in the junior ranks.

The next race on the Malta Triathlon Association calendar is an Olympic Triathlon on Sunday, April 4 at Salina.
