The feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, known as Is-Salvatur, is being celebrated at Lija on Tuesday.

The St Pius X Band of Lija will march through the village streets tomorrow at 7.30 p.m. followed by a musical programme on the square.

The very popular traditional fireworks display by St Michael's Fireworks Factory will start tomorrow at 9.45 p.m. It includes a 20-minute display synchronised to music. A ground fireworks display will be held in Transfiguration Avenue at 11.45 p.m.

On Tuesday, the feast day proper, a solemn concelebrated Mass led by Apostolic Nuncio Mgr Paul Giglio, will be held at 9.15 a.m. with a panegyric by Fr Martin Micallef, OFM Cap.

The procession with the statue of Our Saviour leaves the church at 7 p.m. Later the St Pius X Band will march through the streets of Lija as a tribute to the members of St Michael Fireworks Factory.
